Substitute Lesson Plans for Paul Fleischer   (E7)
(These are my Emergency Plans, in case I couldn't get Lesson Plans to my desk)
*Welcome and Thank You for taking the classes.
*The bell schedule is on the wall above the whiteboard in case the little cherubs try to sneak out early.
*Roll is to be taken on the copy of the roll sheet from the Attendance Office and I will update the online attendance when I return according to the roll you have taken. (if MY Roll Binder is on the desk, PLEASE DO NOT USE IT)
*They KNOW the rules of the class (I'm not saying they'll follow them, but they might plead ignorance-don't buy it!!) They're not to put on or take off anything from the desk and no one is allowed behind it.  They'll move around the room if working in groups but if you feel a riot might ensue, don't hesitate to revoke that privilege.
*Have a great day!!  PLEASE LEAVE A DETAILED REPORT OF HOW THE DAY WAS (GOOD/BAD) AND ANY NAMES (GOOD/BAD)!!!!!!!!!!!

2/12/19-2/15/19

2/12/19
1 Sheltered Earth Science
+Helpful: Adilene (Peer Tutor), Annie Scully (Co-Teacher), Lizbeth, Ada, Heber, Cristian, Angel, Ammar, Jose G, Brian
-Be aware: Otoniel, Cesar M, Jose B, Jose R,
*About 20 seconds before the bell rings, please turn on the projector and the document camera. Directions on each.
*When the bell rings, say, "Today I will..." and they will read the Language Objective for the day.
*They will have 5 minutes to answer/discuss the DR. It is under the document camera. For Tuesday and Wednesday, they are to answer #1 only.
*You can take roll during this time.
*After 5 minutes, please say, "Exchange". They will trade papers and grade each others. Ask them to read the question aloud. Ask for answers and explanations. The answer is "weather/climate". They will score each others' papers and trade back.
*PLEASE TURN OFF BOTH PROJECTOR AND DOCUMENT CAMERA!
*They will use their phones to go on the website: http://pfleischer.net and go to the 2nd Semester Assignment Calendar and select Climate Map.
*They can work with partners (period 1 must stay in seating chart); they may use their texts, online sources, and the globes (please be vigilant with the globes - if they are damaged, the students responsible must pay for them).
*Here are the URL and directions:
+ Using the information from class and your text, LABEL the world map (given in class) indicating the following:
*each climatic region on the map
*any/all factors affecting each climatic region (see Standard Sheet V for factors affecting climate)
In addition, on the back of the map (or on a separate piece of paper stapled to the map), please address the following:
         *describe each climatic region
*explain how the factors affect each region

*Please remind them that this assignment isn't a 3rd grade coloring assignment. Yes, they are to show where each climatic region is but the focus should be on WHY the climates are different; labeling the factors and the explanation of the factors that affect climate is the focus.
*If anyone is done with ALL of their notes and their map (HIGHLY UNLIKELY!), they can redo their low scores from previous assignments.
*NO ONE has an excuse for not working.
*Please make sure they clean/straighten up the room before anyone is allowed to leave.

PLEASE LEAVE DETAILED REPORT WITH NAMES (GOOD/BAD)

3 General Psychology
+Helpful: Everyone
-Be aware: Not really anyone (on a good day)

Just before the bell rings, please turn on the projector and document camera with the Journal entry.
*After the bell, they are to listen silently to the announcements for 5 minutes; if the announcements are not over at 10:45, we stop listening
*At this time, you can ask if anyone wants to share or you can call on people for responses. There are two journal entries so if they need more time to discuss and write, they can have it. Feel free to join the discussion about stress in each level. When you address the second question, please mention this: Each group should be writing down the questions so they can find the answers for their presentation. I'll mention this to them so they will be somewhat prepared.

*They know the test is on Friday so they can work on their notes and can study with partners/groups. Their notes will be due on the 20th but so will the Motivation Research Paper so they have no reason to slack off.
*Their other option is to work with their group on the Developmental Psych project. They should be gathering information for their notes and determining how to present.
*They really have a lot to do and no one should be off task.
*This is a great class and you shouldn't have any problems.

2/14/19-2/15/19

See plans from 2/12-2/13 and follow same plan with one change for Earth Science:
For the DR (warm-up activity), use question #4 instead of #1: Answer is "shape of the land"
Otherwise, please follow lesson plans from previous class. It should take hours to complete the map and the notes correctly; anyone who claims they are done is full of it or did a poor job on it and needs to be working harder to finish it well. There will be no more class time to work on this assignment.

For 3rd period, there will be no journal and they have 1 hour to take the test; after the test, please collect them and the students have the remainder of the period to work on the following assignments:
Motivation Research Paper
Motivation/Emotion Notes
Developmental Project
(See Wednesday's plan for details)

 Thank you!!
